While the writing is nothing 'good' this situation is more poor drawing than writing. Situation happened 'faster' and more 'sudden' in text and I think it was also in a somewhat 'crowded' location.

Well its either that or terrible translations made it seem faster. Translations for that series was bad at one point in time so I kinda skimmed through it.

Well, he cant see the Goddess since she is not actually there in the world. So directly confronting her is out. And if we are being literal, she did not do much this time besides being a powerful backer. Kaoru practically did everything. She is the one who basically decided the fate of that country. Although the alt was complete annihilation. She also is the closest thing to the Goddess and is actually in reachable existance.
